Maricel Blackwell

Maricel Blackwell is proud to work at HMSA whose mission is to provide the people of Hawaii access to a sustainable, quality health care system that improves the overall health and well-being of our state. Her current and previous roles of Manager, Well-Being Programs and Alliance Manager, respectively, support this overarching goal.

Maricel is a seasoned Hawaii professional with two decades of experience in the insurance and financial services industries. She has extensive background in operations, management, sales and marketing, communications, human resources, compliance, and vendor management. She is a results-focused leader with the ability to hire, train, and manage associates with diverse skill sets while addressing bottom line issues through budget review and financial analysis.

Prior to working at HMSA, Maricel was an executive manager and registered representative for two Fortune 500 Companies. She is recognized for successfully establishing and implementing policies and procedures that improved overall effectiveness and reduced operational costs. Originally from the Pacific Northwest, Maricel moved to Oahu where she received her BSBA from Hawaii Pacific University. She currently resides in Honolulu where she is an active member in her community.


Dr. Allana Coffee

Allana Wade Coffee, Ph.D., LLC, is a licensed psychologist with a Ph.D in Educational Psychology earned in 2004 and an additional 4 year re-specialization certificate in clinical psychology earned in 2012. Since 1995 Allana Coffee has worked in public and private education, community mental health, Kaiser Permanente and private practice serving adolescents, adults, couples, and parents. Dr. Coffee has written curricula and provided professional training for domestic violence treatment. She co-authored and published an article on the effects of domestic violence on children with her husband Jerry Coffee, Jr.

In 2005, Dr. Coffee published a manual for teaching anger-management and communication skills in the elementary school classroom. Dr. Coffee’s experiences both as a student, a teacher and consultant in the Hawaii State Department of Education system make her especially sensitive to the unique experiences faced by parents, teachers and students. Dr. Coffee’s personal and professional experiences contribute to her ability to provide culturally relevant and useful support.


Jerry Coffee
Co-Founder & Licensed Clinical Social Worker

Jerry Coffee is a seasoned therapist and relationship coach with over 25 years of experience serving the people of Hawaii. Raised in Leeward Oahu, Jerry attended local public schools before earning his Master of Social Work (MSW) from the University of Hawaii. His work is built on the belief that the most important relationship anyone will ever have is the one with themselves — a foundation he sees as essential for personal growth, healthy relationships, and professional success.
 
Jerry specializes in helping individuals, couples, and families set clear goals, build emotional resilience, and strengthen communication. His areas of expertise include managing depression, anxiety, grief, PTSD, parenting challenges, emotional intimacy, anger management, and navigating blended family dynamics.
 
In addition to relationship coaching, Jerry provides career coaching designed to help clients succeed within Hawaii’s unique workplace culture. Drawing from his extensive work as an employee assistance provider, he offers practical, culturally informed guidance to those navigating career development, relocation adjustments, and workplace transitions.
 
Jerry’s approach blends evidence-based practices, common sense, and humor, always grounded in the deep belief that trust between client and provider is the most powerful catalyst for lasting change.
