Event Description:
Join the Chamber and Torkildson, Katz, Moore, Hetherington & Harris for an update on personnel law trends and recent court decisions in labor and employment cases. Each session will include 5 minutes of Q&A and the program will be followed by Q&A session.

Jeffrey S. Harris, a Director at the firm, represents employers in all aspects of labor and employment law. His main areas of practice are employment litigation and counseling employers. Kendra K. Kawai is a Director in the labor and employment department of the firm. She has extensive trial experience and regularly defends small and large employers in discrimination, harassment and disability cases at the administrative, state and federal levels. Joseph A. Ernst is a Director of the firm and a member of the employment law department. His practice involves counseling and defending employers in all aspects of employment law, including defense of wrongful discharge, discrimination, harassment, whistleblower, and retaliation claims. He also assists clients with employer compliance with state and federal employment and labor laws. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Ernst worked in the Labor & Employment practice group for Carlsmith Ball LLP. View more.

10:30 - 11:15 am: Missing Work, Managing Mental Disabilities and Developments Under Trump's First 100 days
John L. Knorek, a Director at the firm, provides counsel and representation to large and small employers in all aspects of employment and wrongful discharge law. His practice also includes collective bargaining negotiations, affirmative action compliance, mediation and arbitration. He provides training to businesses on employment discrimination and preventative personnel practices, including family leave, disability law and sexual harassment.
